The Secret Garden at the Alex Hotel is a beautiful outdoor terrace that's superb for weekend brunch. With a gorgeous floral-inspired design, this spot is a hidden gem in the heart of the city, with a retractable roof to enjoy sky views and heaters for chillier days. The delectable menu has both healthy and indulgent options on offer, including Protein Pancakes with strawberries and peanut butter, a delicious Roasted Cauliflower Vegan Salad, or how about a Buttered Poached Lobster Roll or Nduja Turkish Eggs? Whatever you choose we recommend pairing it with a Bloody Mary from the cocktail list, and finishing with the cookie baked in a skillet for dessert!

A short menu is always a sign of a terrific brunch spot, and the offering at Blas is delightfully succinct: waffles, three egg dishes, and two wild cards - a Fennel and Citrus Sausage Bap and a 18-hour Braised Irish Brisket Toastie with Mature White Cheddar, Emmental and Provolone Cheese.

Fans of all things cute and quaint (and covered in confectioner's sugar!) will love this pretty tea room in Powerscourt Centre, which specialises in sweet and savoury classics with eggs all day with a range of add-ons including free range sausages and Portebello mushrooms. Plus, we're slightly obsessed with the Pear & Bacon Sandwich and don't miss the Victoria Sponge - Mary Berry would approve!

8. Two Boys Brew

Soul food is still a foreign concept in Dublin, but the closest you'll come for brunch is this speciality coffee spot in Dublin 7, where delicious Hotcakes, Chilli Eggs, and Cajun Fried Chicken Burgers grace the menu alongside Avocado Toast and Overnight Oats.

9. Row Wines

You can expect all the classic heroes like French toast and a banging fry at Row Wines along with inventive entries such as Crab on Toast with cucumber relish and lemon and chilli emulsion, a Triple Cheese and Nduja Toastie, and Birria Tacos. For brunch in glamorous surroundings, this beloved Dublin 4 hotel should be your first stop. The menu boasts a crowd-pleasing mix of timeless classics, with a few more substantial dishes, including a dynamite Club Sandwich, thrown in for good measure.

11. Sophie's at The Dean

At the top of one of Dublin's most stylish hotels, you'll find Sophie's, a hopping bar and restaurant with a killer view of the city, and a pretty faultless brunch offering. An indulgent brunch with Argentinian flair? We're in. Alma means 'soul' in Spanish and we couldn't think of a better moniker for this spot. For a flavour punch try the marinated Ragu Beef with Pickled Shimiji Mushrooms and Turmeric Cauliflower. Our sweet dish of choice is the delectable Buttermilk Pancakes with Dulce de Leche, brandy and orange mascarpone!

Kakilang is a one-stop-shop for bubble tea and authentic Taiwanese cuisine in the heart of the city. If you want to indulge your sweet tooth the menu boasts a selection of scrumptious Mille Crepes which are made up of layers of delicate pancakes stacked together with a creamy filling in between. Flavours include matcha, tiramisu and chocolate mint. There is also their jiggly and fluffy Japanese Souffle Pancake and bubble tea fans will be spoiled for choice with their range of unique flavoured tea-based drinks which are topped off with chewy tapioca balls and pearls.

It's not only one of our favourite Dublin wedding venues, brunch at Urban Brewing is a haven for savoury brunchers. You can forward to dishes like Fried Chicken French Toast, Mussel Linguini and a Blood Orange and Goat’s Cheese Salad.

It doesn't get more indulgent than a bottomless brunch at a Brazilian kitchen, right? This Abbey Street spot gets the party started early on weekends with cool twists on brunch classics like the Brioche French Toast with banana rum compote with lunch dishes including and the Avocado Toast with Brazilian savoury granola and zesty kale slaw.

Brothers Hugh and Eoin O’Reilly are egg experts! All boxes are ticked at The Commons Café which is perched on the grounds of the Museum of Literature Ireland. For dog-friendly brunch options, this hot spot located in Dublin 8 and in Fairview can't be beat! The menu changes regularly but there are always terrific options for both meat eaters and veggies with seasonal dishes and homemade cakes aplenty.

33. Hidden by One Society

One Society's sister resturant, this vibrant eatery offers an all-bases-covered menu, there's really something for everyone. The pancake selection is excellent with American-Style Vanilla Pancakes and a spicy Hangover Stack which is topped with ricotta cheese and crispy smoked bacon. The new addition to the stack selection is their Viral Dubai Chocolate Pancakes! Acai Bowls, Shakshouka, Breakfast Buns, Brisket Burgers, it's all here.

34. Cloud Café

Again, this is technically an all-day breakfast joint, rather than brunch spot, but the Cloud Café offering is too delicious to pass over. Boasting low-key classics done exceptionally well, the menu includes Organic Oat Pancakes, a Bacon, Sausage and Egg Butty, and a Halloumi, Kale and Free Range Poached Egg.

35. Legit Coffee Co.

This exceptionally stylish neighbourhood café has a lot of refined, hearty fare, namely the Breakfast Bap, BBQ Pulled Pork & Crispy Onion Sandwich and divine Sauteed Mushroom and Onion Stuffing Roll. There is a varied list of sandwiches to choose from and don't leave without trying one of the fresh-baked pastries (or energy balls if you're on the straight and narrow).
