A Wildly Romantic Elopement on the Cliffs of Moher: Megan & Jéssica

Two brides and their breathtaking elopement to one of Ireland's most beautiful places...

If you're feeling the pressure of all the wedding planning and secretly dreaming of an elopement, well today's gorgeous real wedding is a must-see. For a few minutes you can live your elopement dream vicariously through Megan and Jéssica who decided to make a bold move, go with what they wanted and have their wedding day just to themselves - that's right, no guests!

The pair who are originally from Scotland and Brazil, fell for the idea of an Irish elopement - so they chose one of Ireland's most unique natural landscapes, Hag's Head in Co. Clare, and with a little help from the Coastal Ceremonies team and the excellent Shauna Ward of Wild and Green Photography, they realised their dream. The result was a gorgeous and utterly intimate Cliffs of Moher elopement, and it looked like a whole lot of fun too! This is one for any of you seriously considering escaping all the wedding madness and just making it about the two of you...

So first things first, we have to zip back in time to find out how these lovebirds met. The pair tell us they met on a dating app. "We started chatting and decided to meet up for the first time at a bar in Dublin since we were both living there. We ended up talking for hours on our first date. It just felt so natural, and from there, things really clicked. We've been together ever since!".

First dates led eventually to love and smitten Megan proposed while on a getaway to a log cabin in Scotland for New Year's Eve. "The place was beautiful, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for the proposal. It was a snowy night, which added so much charm to the moment. Everything went perfectly, and it was a memory we'll both always cherish."

The stylish brides both got ready at the same cottage, and although their wedding day was kept simple their outfits are filled with gorgeous details. We love both their individual looks, you can tell it radiates each of their personalities.

Megan found her dreamy lace and tulle bridal gown at bridal boutique WED2B, while Jéssica's was a Rat & Boa find. "We didn't have a specific style or aesthetic in mind, but each of us chose our dresses and flowers individually. In the end, everything just came together perfectly and felt very personal. The choices we made ended up matching beautifully and were really special to both of us."

We'll never not love a first look!

Perfect for their outdoor Irish wedding adventures, Megan paired her princess bridal look with comfy Adidas trainers, while Jéssica donned a stylish pair of white low block heels from Zara.

Megan also sweetly chose a sunflower for her bouquet, which is Jess's favorite flower, making it extra meaningful.

After a few fun photos at the cottage the two brides headed off to their wedding ceremony together.

The ceremony was held at Hag's Head, the most southerly point of the Cliffs of Moher with just the brides, their officiant Clara Malone of Coastal Ceremonies, and photographer Shauna of Wild and Green Photography. Usually we see ceremony spaces decorated with lots of little details but the wonderfully wild landscape needed no embellishment, it made for a beautiful and special place to make their vows. The secluded spot really upping the romance of their elopement.

An elopement is a pretty unusual choice given the usual pressures from friends and family, so we were curious how the couple came to choose this route, Megan and Jéssica tell us, "From the very beginning, our priority was to make sure the day was simply all about us and our celebration. We wanted it to be a personal, meaningful experience that reflected our relationship, so we focused on making every detail something special to both of us."

They add, "Our wedding was an intimate elopement, so it was completely private and focused on us. It was a calm yet incredibly fun day, filled with personal touches that made everything feel special. Every detail was exactly how we wanted it, making it a truly unforgettable experience."

And the epic location choice? " We wanted a truly Irish venue that showcased the natural beauty of this country, and we also knew we wanted to get married outdoors. The Cliffs of Moher felt like the perfect choice. Its stunning views and rugged charm made it an unforgettable setting for our ceremony. "

Makes perfect sense - stick to your gut and celebrate the way YOU want to. As you can see from this wedding sticking true to yourself can work beautifully.

In a rural setting transport was key and for the day Megan and Jéssica were driven around in a vintage car - an extra personal touch for them both.

After the ceremony, and as they had no guests or reception to rush to, the pair took some time to take some portraits together under the before they celebrated with pints of Guinness at Gus O'Connor's Pub in Doolin.

After planning such a personal celebration, the pair are full of praise for their planners who helped them achieve a fully stress free day. "If you're planning an elopement, we'd definitely recommend having a planner. The location can be remote, so having someone to help coordinate everything and ensure it runs smoothly on the day is key. Also, remember that this is likely a once-in-a-lifetime event, so make sure to enjoy every minute and ensure everything you've dreamed of comes to life."

Summing up their day it's clear Megan and Jéssica chose the perfect way to celebrate for them. "What made the day really special and personal was the thought behind every detail. Everyone working on the day was so relaxed and approachable, creating a calm, enjoyable atmosphere. We were together every step of the way-from waking up to getting ready together-which made the whole experience even more intimate and unforgettable. We also had a musician play the violin during the ceremony, and we selected songs that held special meaning for us."

The couple are yet to go on honeymoon but a trip to Japan is in the works. "We're really looking forward to it when the time comes. We've heard amazing things!".

Huge congratulations to Megan and Jéssica, we truly enjoyed every little detail of your stylish Cliffs of Moher elopement. Thank you also to Wild and Green Photography for sharing the wonderful photography with us.
