Just Like Heaven: Stacey & Rob's Romantic Barn Wedding with a Wes Anderson Twist

The bride changed up her look for the reception with epically chic accessories!

At the unique and rustic barn wedding venue Segrave Barns, Stacey and Rob tied the knot in a wonderfully stylish autumn celebration. They planned their special day themselves and their main focus was sharing their day of love with 100 of their nearest and dearest. With Dzifa of Folklore Photography there to capture their romantic September fete, the Dundalk-based couple opted for a rustic palette which incorporated rich tones of brown and green with delicate pops of peach brimming in the flowers. Featuring stunning bridal style, a sweet something blue wedding bus, plush brown bridesmaid dresses, an epic reception entrance, a scrumptious wedding cake and more, check out Stacey and Rob's special day below!

Stacey is from Dundalk and Rob hails from Blackrock and they met on a night out in a friend's house years before they got together. "When Rob was saying that Anastasia was a Disney Film and Stacey couldn't help but correct him it started a longstanding tradition of Rob being wrong and being corrected," they tell us.

There is no better person to tell their gorgeous proposal story than the groom himself. "Once at a Jack White concert in Edinburgh, I told Stace the next time we saw him, I would propose. Then Jack White announced another tour with a concert in Paris, so we got tickets, and I contacted a jeweller to commission a ring for Stace."

Our breathtaking bride everyone! She sourced her ethereal off-the-shoulder gown with diaphanous sleeves and a flowing skirt from Modern Fashions in Dundalk which she styled with a pearl-lined veil, pearl wedding heels from Aldo and pearl drop earrings.

Back to their engagement story... Rob continues, "We went over to Paris and the day of the concert came, and I got too nervous and a bit too drunk. A few days later with our time in the city coming to an end, we got some drinks and went for a walk down by the Seine. Where I panicked again, thinking I had lost the ring, so down on my honkers, not down on one knee, relieved that I hadn't actually lost the ring, I opened the ring case and I was that relieved that I forgot to actually ask her to marry me, to my surprise she didn't say yes, she just planted the lips on me. So there, looking at the Eiffel Tower in the rain, under a great big tree taking shelter in a thunderstorm, I got the message."

From the moment they started wedding planning, Stacey and Rob knew they didn't want a traditional wedding. "Neither of us are religious but we have a deep love for our friends and family. The main focus of the wedding was just having our nearest and dearest, sharing our day with them."

What a lovely one-liner for wedding signage, we want to steal it right away!

The couple held their ceremony in the barn which oozed rustic romance with their friend Johnny Monely acting as their celebrant.

While they knew that Stacey wanted Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper as her processional song, the couple found it hard to choose music for their ceremony. Everything fell into note-perfect place once they heard a piano and violin version of Just Like Heaven by The Cure. "I remember on the day, with how everything was so much of a rush and a busy morning, I didn't have moments where it all felt real. Then once the opening to Time After Time started playing I had to look up at the roof for a moment to stop myself from crying as my eyes immediately started welling up all."

The couple knew the Louth wedding venue was 'the one' instantly. "It was just the most magical and beautiful venue. Everything was on site with the ceremony, reception and dinner all being right beside each other, we knew it would help us with making ourselves and our guests be at ease. In all honesty, once we seen the venue, and how it reminded us of Wes Anderson we kinda steered into that, how it was casual but concisely crafted."

Their wedding day was "pure magic", they reflect. "The weather was great which really helped set the tone, everyone helped the day be perfect. From the guests, to the staff in Segrave to our photographers."

Rob's wedding day look was downright dashing with his green wedding suit coming from Studio Suits.

Bridesmaids in brown is always so chic. Stacey's leading ladies wore elegant chocolate brown velvet dresses from Girl In Mind.

They couldn't have imagined their special day without Dzifa and Dee capturing every magical moment. "They truly guided us every step of the way, making sure each special moment we wanted to capture was preserved. They brought such a sense of calm to us and our wedding party, effortlessly capturing candid moments throughout the day that we will treasure forever. From our very first meeting with Dzifa, it was clear she understood what we were looking for. We didn’t want a stiff, formal atmosphere with posed photos, we wanted something genuine and relaxed. How she managed to catch every candid moment of the day, I'll never know, but I'll never not be thankful to her for help."

Stacey's elegant yet lush bouquet was teeming with peach and cream roses with plenty of foliage.

With shellings of sparkling fairy lights and foliage adorning the tables, beautiful Mr and Mrs personalised seat covers and a kitschy Lambeth wedding cake, their reception styling was oh-so gorgeous.

Stacey's uncle Frank helped make their reception entrance unforgettable as he walked them in playing Marie's Wedding on his bagpipes. "To our surprise even though he had arrived to the ceremony in a normal suit, he came over to us to tune up in his full kilt and regalia of his highland dress. I'm not sure that Frank knows how much that meant to us, but he gave us both such a smile."

Their top wedding tip is, "As much as people are there to share in your day, you are there to spend the day together together with your partner. Enjoy being with them over the day, but be sure to carve out some time with them to take it all in."

The accessories! How gorgeous is the bride's personalised wedding clutch and her bow wedding veil?

From singing waiters to the electrifying wedding band The Mixtape the couple pulled out all the stops on the entertainment front.

"One of my favourite memories of the day was crafting out some time with just me and Stacey, after the ceremony and photos, we went to a small bar in the venue and had a quiet drink and about 15 minutes to ourselves," Rob says.

They enjoyed their first dance to a cover of The Whole of the Moon by Frightened Rabbit. "It was a lot easier dancing to it that night that it was practising in our kitchen."

Stacey and Rob celebrated saying 'I do' in sun-kissed surrounds in Cancun, Mexico.

Congratulations Stacey and Rob! A very special thank you to our wonderful couple and Folklore Photography for sharing today's magical celebration with One Fab Day.
