A Whimsical Country House Wedding with Wow Factor Flowers: Holly & Matthew

The bride wore an epically elegant Eva Lendel gown!

We're absolutely smitten over today's real wedding which is wonderfully whimsical. Holly and Matthew held their wedding at the ornate country house Homme House in Herefordshire in England. Whimsical pastel blooms were at the heart of the styling of this divine autumn celebration with hints of sage and forest green drawn through the palette.

The couple wanted to squeeze every morsel of magic out of every moment with their nearest and dearest. Deeply personal and thoughtfully curated, their creative celebration shone a spotlight on them as a couple, from their anime-loving processional music to their wanderlust-inspired table settings. The imagery from NK Photography will leave you utterly spellbound, there is so much to look forward to. Enjoy!

Holly and Matthew met online and love quickly blossomed. "We actually met on Hinge! Only because his work at the time was 10 minutes from my flat (otherwise he lived quite far!) later we realised our paths would have crossed back in Nottingham when I was at uni, I worked in the pub where Matt would attend Comic Cons so a small world! Our first date was at Waxy O' Conner’s in London followed by axe throwing we were pretty inseparable after that."

Holly is originally from Scunthorpe while Matthew is from Farnborough where they live today. Matthew chose her favourite place in the world to pop the question, how sweet! "Matt proposed in Singapore (my favourite destination) under the super trees in Marina Bay Sands. Totally didn’t know but he had told my best friend who lives in Singapore had arranged a couple's dinner afterwards to celebrate!"

Matthew was so dapper in his green tweed suit which he styled with a colourful floral print tie and elegant brown leather brogues.

For the couple their top priority was making the most of the time with their cherished ones, so finding a weekend wedding venue was a must. "I was always told that the day goes so quick and
to make the most of it. Since we lost Matt's parents as we started dating we wanted to celebrate the time with family."

So enchantingly ethereal! The couple exchanged vows in the elegant surrounds of the drawing room which was styled with whimsical florals in pretty pastel shades and chiavari chairs were wrapped with sage green cloth. "I think my giant paper flowers were the most unusual elements and I get a lot of compliments and enquiries about them!"

Holly was breathtaking in her Eva Lendel fit and flare Mikado dress with a removable off-the-shoulder cape boasting oversized roses. She accessorised with colourful wedding shoes, adding a touch of monochrome magic with her black Manolo Blahnik heels with glittering straps. She completed her look by adding a cathedral veil, seashell-shape earrings and her grandmother's pearls.

They celebrated their love of anime with their ceremony music with a Bridgerton twist. "I had Merry-Go-Round of Life from Howl's Moving Castle and Matt had Zelda."

That 'Just Married' feeling!

Holly's bridesmaids looked gorgeous in green with their draped Lace & Favour gowns with halter necklines.

Holly reflects on their wedding aesthetic, "I didn’t go in with a set theme, we just wanted to represent us as a couple, so lots of handmade details, the flowers, the bookmarks (avid readers), the places we travelled to as tables names and the boards of our pictures through our relationship."

Holly and Matthew fell in love with the history of their wedding venue which rests on a lush 200-acre estate. "We knew it was 'the one' from the story of the manor and that it is still ran by the family who live and love the land and they put the funds from weddings back into the restoration and upkeep of the historical building. We loved that every option was decided by us all and the vendors with run-of-the-day support from Charlie and Sarah. It felt made to measure plus we had the venue from Friday to Sunday to spend more time with our loved ones!"

We can't stop swooning over the details of their dreamy day and Holly recommends to turn decision-making moments into mini events, "Weekends away to look at the venues - date nights with vendors like catering - so you can look back at the whole planning experience and have extended moments!"

The couple opted for a sleek tiered white wedding cake which was given a romantic air as it was dotted with blooms. For their first dance as husband and wife, they hit the dancefloor to Real Love by Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne.

Holly and Matthew went to Iceland for their mini moon and they would 100% recommend it and they chose Japan for their honeymoon.

A very special thank you to Holly, Matthew and NK Photography for sharing today's wonderful country house wedding with us!
