Planning a Dublin city wedding? Then you are defo going to want to check out today's fun and fabulous Real Wedding celebration. Featuring a roll-call of some of our favourite spots in Dublin, GrĂ¡inne and Paulie celebrated their wedding by hopping between three very different venues across Dublin City. First, saying 'I do' in the stunning Fallon & Byrne ballroom, followed by a drinks reception at Stags Head, then returning to Fallon & Byrne for dinner and dancing and later, ending the day with a late bar and some karaoke at Ukiyo! With all this action to capture the pair called on the talents of Victoria McGarry to capture all the lovely details and she gave it the star treatment as always. There is much to love about this city celebration! Let's take a look...

First things first, lets get to know our couple a little better. GrĂ¡inne tells us her and Paulie first met in a pub in Co. Wexford. "We were both out with our friends. Paulie bought me a bag of chips!".

The proposal happened while the couple were on a trip to Krakow in Poland. GrĂ¡inne details... "After a few nervous days Paul finally got the courage to propose!".

Once engaged, the couple set about planning a celebration for their 120 guests that was "minimal yet classic, relaxed and fun." They add, "It was important to us that people enjoyed themselves and the craic was mighty. But the most important thing was that we made precious memories with the people we love the most."

Surrounded by family and friends, GrĂ¡inne and Paulie had their ceremony in the light-filled ballroom at Fallon & Byrne just a bouquet’s throw from Grafton Street. Set in a stunning heritage building high above the renowned, award-winning Food Hall and with views out onto bustling Exchequer St. - it's a stunning urban setting for a Dublin city wedding.

What made it the one, we asked? The couple said, "We wanted a small intimate city venue where people would be close together. Fallon and Byrne were amazing from day one. They understood our needs from a venue. They were incredibly professional yet very relaxed and easy to deal with."

Reminiscing on their day, the couple say their ceremony was especially special, "We wanted the ceremony to be light hearted and fun. The involvement of our friends and family was the most special for us. Ceremony music was done by close friends. Readings were done by our families and we also involved people close to us in a hand fastening ceremony. Our celebrant, Will Flanagan also composed a highly personal ceremony that made us laugh and cry in equal measure."

The couple added in a sweet ring warming ritual into their ceremony - a traditional Irish wedding ritual where the wedding rings are passed around the congregation to be "warmed up" by the guests. Each guest holds the rings in their hands for a moment and sets an intention, or wish for the couple.

While the couple loved all their ceremony readings, they tell us GrĂ¡inne's mother Caroline's reading was especially cherished. "We also loved our ceremony musicians playing Love You Til The End by The Pogues."

After the ceremony, GrĂ¡inne and Paulie wandered round the surrounding Dublin streets with their photographer who had picked out some prime spots as backdrops for their epic Dublin city wedding portraits. The first stop for celebratory drinks was the iconic Stags Head on Dame Street.

The couple also added a hand-fasting ritual - a symbolic unity ritual in which a couple stand face to face as their hands are tied together - hence the phrase, tying the knot!

Another main focus for GrĂ¡inne and Paulie was capturing all the moments from their Fallon & Byrne wedding. When asked what made their day special, they tell us... "Our photographer Victoria McGarry also captured precious moments throughout the day that we will treasure forever. Her style suited us perfectly as we generally aren’t a couple who like posing for photos. Victoria made this easy for us."

In keeping with the relaxed, yet elegant wedding vibe, GrĂ¡inne wore a chic long-sleeved Sassi Holford wedding dress and chose lush green velvet bridesmaid dresses for her girls which she found at Carraig Donn. Paulie and the guys looked equally dapper in suits from Dorian Black.

The bride completed her wedding day look with green velvet heels she sourced on Etsy, and hair pins from Alice May Bridal.

Keeping with the couples simple, urban, chic style the reception space at Fallon & Byrne was decorated with crisp linens, monochrome stationery and a dessert table featuring a marvelous minimal two-tier wedding cake.

So, after putting together such an inspiring city celebration, the pair have this advice for others who may be planning theirs..."Try and enjoy the planning process. It will be all worth it in the end. Make sure to take time to yourselves on the day." They add, "Also, we would just like to say that all our vendors were amazing! We would highly recommend them all!"

Taking to the floor for the first time as newlyweds, the couple's first dance was to Real Love Baby by Fr. John Misty. They were soon joined by their guests who boogied to the sounds of a Few Good Men.

After their Fallon & Bryne reception drew to a close, the couple and their guests continued the celebrations with karaoke and a late bar at Ukiyo.

The festivities continued into day two with Grainne’s brother hosting a fun table quiz for the couple and their guests at Kennedys Bar on Westland Row. For their honeymoon, the newlyweds plan to travel to Japan in the New Year.

Huge congratulations to you both and thanks so much for sharing your wedding day with us all. A big thank you also goes to Victoria McGarry for sharing her work with us. You can see even more gorgeous photos from their Fallon & Byrne wedding day in the gallery below.
